===========================================
Torah Pesach Day 1
Now the Torah picks for Pesach start with Moshe detailing
Procedures to be observed upon entering the Land.
Then the People did so, recalling Angel of Death's hand
In Death of Firstborn crown prince [and other Folk's lives failing]
Followed by Folk and all theirs out of Egypt being sent
By a grieving Pharaoh whose mind could wobble and be bent...
Hence the People left with unrisen bread and "borrowed" wealth
[Perhaps the neighbors gave them plunder to insure their health?]
Quickly they left, with speed, at the end of the Hyksos reign,
Some two hundred years plus in Egypt 'til this expulsion
When Pharaoh Kamose invaded with chariots and war -
[Given chauvinistic, patriarchal revulsion
Removed the evidence of the female Pharaohs as well...]
But that Torah Folk went from Ramses to Sukkot is the story we tell,
Which describes when the remaining Folk were expelled once more
After four hundred years plus of Egypt's harshening chores...
We close this reading with a Pesach reminder to eat,
Only with circumcised men, the Paschal offering meat
And that Torah is for all Folk and strangers equally!
Maftir for both days:
The Maftir leading to Haftorah of Pesach first days
Says the first and last days of Pesach are Holy rest days!
Haftorah Day 1
Joshua took over the task as leader of the Folk,
Needing to be exalted by HaSHem just as Moshe was too.
Hence a divine herald stopped him over by Jericho,
Said, so Josh told: "Remove sandals. On Holy ground bow low!"
Upon entering the Promised Land there were tasks to do:
All People came in following the Ark, a new world to greet;
For all males after the exodus born: circumcision
With Gilgal healing wiping away taints from Egypt's time -
Or perhaps instead it was from a clear Hyksos defeat
With expulsion of multitudes... historic revision?
Then it was the season to observe Passover, drink wine,
Eat unleavened bread made from the Promised Land's new wheat grain,
And at the same time, upon entry, no more manna came!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pesach Day 2 -Torah
The second day Torah pick recalls how it was deemed right
That the eight day old lamb offered was all eaten at night;
That the Folk agreed to observe the Laws such as not to
Profane the Holy Name and observe all Holy Days, too,
At the appointed times: Shabbat; Pesach; and Shavuot;
Days of Assembly, Remembrance, Atonement and Sukkot -
Pesach first and seventh day of no work, rest with Matzot
Of the new wheat harvest; from day two count fifty days
To arrive at Shavuot offerings, burnt and sheaf waves
For a Day of Assembly after barley grain gleanings;
For the poor and proselytes allow field corners' leavings.
Shofar blasts herald Day of Remembrance rest... work? no way!
Self-denial for Atonement, no work a full day!
Shabbat Shabbaton, Yom HaKippurim: observe or die!
Next comes Sukkot, no work first and Assembly eighth days,
With lulav and etrog, willow and myrtle - them we shake;
With Assembly offerings, vows, and free-will gift bequests;
In celebration of where's Israel after Egypt left:
In Sukkot dwelling well with offerings and good living kept...
Maftir for both days:
The Maftir leading to Haftorah of Pesach first days
Says the first and last days of Pesach are Holy rest days!
Pesach Day 2 - Haftorah
To teach the People, King Josiah read the Brit out loud
So that all could hear, learn to observe the rules...
Then as per High Priest Hilkiah, he told the Priestly crowd
To cleanse all idolatrous objects from the Temple too...
They were burnt outside Jerusalem, the Holy City...
Then he suppressed the idolatrous priests without pity
As well as male prostitutes, necromancers, and the like
Such as mediums and fetishes... their shrines destroyed...
All Pesach rituals and offerings were re-deployed.
He was King most close to HaShem, in the Brit took delight...

Torah and Haftorah portions :
Day 1 Pesach
Shemot 12:21
Vayikra Moshe lechol-ziknei Yisrael vayomer alehem mishchu ukchu lachem tzon lemishpechoteichem veshachatu haPesach.
And Moshe called to all the elders of Yisrael and said to them, Draw forth or buy for yourselves one of the flock for your families, and slaughter the Passover offering.
22 Ulekachtem agudat ezov utvaltem badam asher-basaf vehigatem el-hamashkof ve'el-shtei hamezuzot min-hadam asher basaf ve'atem lo tetz'u ish mipetach-beito ad-boker.
You shall take a bundle of hyssop and dip it in the blood that is in the basin, and touch the lintel and the two doorposts with some of the blood that is in the basin, and none of you shall go out the entrance of his house until morning.
23 Ve'avar HASHEM lingof et-Mitzrayim vera'ah et-hadam al-hamashkof ve'al shtey hamezuzot ufasach HASHEM al-hapetach velo yiten hamashchit lavo el-bateychem lingof.
For HASHEM will pass through to strike the Egypt; and when He sees the blood on the lintel and on the two doorposts, HASHEM will pass over the door and not allow the destroyer to come into your houses to strike you.
24 Ushmartem et-hadavar hazeh lechok-lecha ulevaneicha ad-olam.
And you shall observe this thing as an ordinance for you and your sons forever.
25 Vehayah ki-tavo'u el-ha'aretz asher yiten HASHEM lachem ka'asher diber ushmartem et-ha'avodah hazot.
It will come to pass when you come to the land which HASHEM will give you, just as He promised, that you shall keep this service.
26 Vehayah ki-yomru aleychem beneychem mah ha'avodah hazot lachem.
And it shall be, when your children say to you, 'What do you mean by this service?'
27 Va'amartem zevach-pesach hu l'HASHEM asher pesach al-batei venei-Yisrael beMitzrayim benogpo et-Mitzrayim ve'et-bateynu hitsil vayikod ha'am vayishtachavu.
That you shall say, 'It is the Passover sacrifice of Hashem who passed over the houses of the children of Yisrael in Egypt when He struck the Egypt and delivered our households.'" So the people bowed their heads and worshiped.
28 Vayelchu vaya'asu benei Yisrael ka'asher tsivah HASHEM et-Moshe ve'Aharon ken asu.
Then the children of Yisrael went away and did so; just as HASHEM had commanded Moshe and Aharon, so they did.
[The Tenth Plague: Death of the Firstborn]
29 Vayehi bachatsi halailah va'HASHEM hikah chol-bechor be'eretz Mitzrayim mibechor Par'oh hayoshev al-kis'o ad bechor hashvi asher beveit habor vechol bechor behemah.
And it came to pass at midnight that HASHEM struck all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of Pharaoh who sat on his throne to the firstborn of the captive who was in the dungeon, and all the firstborn of livestock.
30 Vayakom Par'oh lailah hu vechol-avadav vechol-Mitzrayim vatehi tse'akah gedolah beMitzrayim ki-ein bayit asher ein-sham met.
So Pharaoh rose in the night, he, all his servants, and all the Egypt; and there was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.
[The Exodus]
31 Vayikra le-Moshe ule-Aharon lailah vayomer kumu tse'u mitoch ami gam-atem gam-benei Yisrael ulechu ivdu et-HASHEM kedaberchem.
Then he called for Moshe and Aharon by night, and said, "Rise, go out from among my people, both you and the children of Yisrael. And go, serve HASHEM as you have said.
32 Gam-tsonchem gam-bekarchem kechu ka'asher dibartem valechu uverachtem gam-oti.
Also take your flocks and your herds, as you have said, and be gone; and bless me also."
33 Vatechezak Mitzrayim al-ha'am lemaher leshalcham min-ha'aretz ki amru kulanu metim.
And the Egypt urged the people, that they might send them out of the land in haste. For they said, "We shall all be dead."
34 Vayisa ha'am et-betseko terem yechmatz mish'arotam tsrurot besimlotam al-shichmam.
So the people took their dough before it was leavened, having their kneading bowls bound up in their clothes on their shoulders.
35 Uvenei Yisrael asu kidevar Moshe vayish'alu miMitzrayim klei-chesef uchlei zahav usmalot.
Now the children of Yisrael had done according to the word of Moshe, and they had asked from the Egypt articles of silver, articles of gold, and clothing.
36 V'HASHEM natan et-chen ha'am be'einei Mitzrayim vayash'ilum vayenatslu et-Mitzrayim.
And HASHEM had given the people favor in the sight of the Egypt, so that they granted them what they requested. Thus they plundered the Egypt.
37 Vayis'u venei Yisrael meRamses Sukkotah keshesh-me'ot elef ragli hagevarim levad mitach.
Then the children of Yisrael journeyed from Rameses to Sukkot, about six hundred thousand men on foot, besides children.
38 Vegam-erev rav alah itam vetson uvakar mikneh kaved me'od.
A mixed multitude went up with them also, and flocks and herds--a great deal of livestock.
39 Vayofu et-habatsek asher hotsi'u miMitzrayim ugot matzot ki lo chametz ki-gorshu miMitzrayim velo yachlu lehitmahameha vegam-tsedah lo-asu lahem.
And they baked unleavened cakes of the dough which they had brought out of Egypt; for it was not leavened, because they were driven out of Egypt and could not wait, nor had they prepared provisions for themselves.
40 Umoshav benei Yisrael asher yashevu beMitzrayim shloshim shanah ve'arba me'ot shanah.
Now the sojourn of the children of Yisrael who lived in Egypt was four hundred and thirty years.
41 Vayehi miketz shloshim shanah ve'arba me'ot shanah vayehi be'etzem hayom hazeh yatze'u kol-tsiv'ot HASHEM me'eretz Mitzrayim.
And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years--on that very same day--it came to pass that all the armies of HASHEM went out from the land of Egypt.
42 Leil shimurim hu l'HASHEM lehotzi'am me'eretz Mitzrayim hu-halailah hazeh l'HASHEM shimurim lechol-benei Yisrael ledorotam.
It is a night of solemn observance to HASHEM for bringing them out of the land of Egypt. This is that night of HASHEM, a solemn observance for all the children of Yisrael throughout their generations.
[Pesach Regulations]
43 Vayomer HASHEM el-Moshe ve'Aharon zot chukat haPesach kol-ben-nechar lo-yochal bo.
And HASHEM said to Moshe and Aharon, "This is the ordinance of the Pesach: No foreigner shall eat it.
44 Vechol-eved ish miknat-kasef umaltah oto az yochal bo.
But every man's servant who is bought for money, when you have circumcised him, then he may eat it.
45 Toshav vesachir lo-yochal bo.
A sojourner and a hired servant shall not eat it.
46 Bevayit echad ye'achel lo-totzi min-habayit min-habasar chutzah ve'etzem lo-tishberu-vo.
In one house it shall be eaten; you shall not carry any of the flesh outside the house, nor shall you break one of its bones.
47 Kol-adat Yisrael ya'asu oto.
All the congregation of Yisrael shall keep it.
48 Vechi-yagur itcha ger ve'asah Pesach l'HASHEM himol lo chol-zachar ve'az yikrav la'asoto vehayah ke'ezrach ha'aretz vechol-arel lo-yochal bo.
And when a stranger dwells with you and wants to keep the Pesach to HASHEM, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as a native of the land. For no uncircumcised person shall eat it.
49 Torah achat yihyeh la'ezrach velager hagar betochechem.
One Torah shall be for the native-born and for the stranger who dwells among you."
50 Vaya'asu kol-benei Yisrael ka'asher tsivah HASHEM et-Moshe ve'et-Aharon ken asu.
Thus all the children of Yisrael did; as HASHEM commanded Moshe and Aharon, so they did.
51 Vayehi be'etzem hayom hazeh hotzi HASHEM et-benei Yisrael me'eretz Mitzrayim al-tsiv'otam.
And it came to pass, on that very same day, that HASHEM brought the children of Yisrael out of the land of Egypt according to their armies.

Haftarah Pesach - First Day
Yehoshua 3:5 - 3:7; 5:2 - 5:15; 6:1; 6:27
~Maftir BaMidbar 28:16 - 28:25~
3:5 Vayomer Yehoshua el-ha'am hitkadashu ki machar ya'aseh HASHEM bekirbechem nifla'ot.
And Yehoshua said to the people, "Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow HASHEM will do wonders among
you."
6 Vayomer Yehoshua el-hakohanim lemor se'u et-aron habrit ve'ivru lifnei ha'am vayis'u et-aron habrit
vayelchu lifnei ha'am.
Then Yehoshua spoke to the priests, saying, "Take up the ark of the covenant and cross over before the people." So they took up the ark of the covenant and went before the people.
7 Vayomer HASHEM el-Yehoshua hayom hazeh achel gadelcha be'eynei kol-Yisrael asher yed'un ki ka'asher hayiti im-Moshe eheyeh imach.
And HASHEM said to Yehoshua, "This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Yisrael, that they may know that, as I was with Moshe, so I will be with you.
5:2 Ba'et hahi amar HASHEM el-Yehoshua aseh lecha charvot tzurim veshuv mol et-benei-Yisrael shenit.
At that time HASHEM said to Yehoshua, "Make flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Yisrael again the second time."
3 Vaya'as-lo Yehoshua charvot tzurim vayamol et-benei Yisrael el-giv'at ha'Aralot.
So Yehoshua made flint knives for himself, and circumcised the sons of Yisrael at the hill of the foreskins.
4 Vezeh hadavar asher-mal Yehoshua kol-ha'am hayotze miMitzrayim hazcharim kol anshei hamilchamah metu vamidbar baderech betzetam miMitzrayim.
And this is the reason why Yehoshua circumcised them: All the people who came out of Egypt who were males, all the men of war, had died in the wilderness on the way, after they had come out of Egypt.
5 Ki-mulim hayu kol-ha'am hayotz'im vechol-ha'am hayilodim bamidbar baderech betzetam miMitzrayim lo-malu.
For all the people who came out had been circumcised, but all the people born in the wilderness, on the way as they came out of Egypt, had not been circumcised.
6 Ki arba'im shanah halchu venei-Yisrael bamidbar ad-tom kol-hagoy anshei hamilchamah hayotz'im
miMitzrayim asher lo-sham'u bekol HASHEM asher nishba HASHEM lahem levilti har'otam et-ha'aretz asher nishba HASHEM la'avotam latet lanu eretz zavat chalav udvash.
For the children of Yisrael walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people who were men of war,
who came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they did not obey the voice of HASHEM--To whom
HASHEM swore that He would not show them the land which HASHEM had sworn to their fathers that He would give us, "a land flowing with milk and honey."
7 Ve'et-beneihem hekim tachtam otam mal Yehoshua ki-arelim hayu ki lo-malu otam baderech.
Then Yehoshua circumcised their sons whom He raised up in their place; for they were uncircumcised,
because they had not been circumcised on the way.
8 Vayehi ka'asher-tamu chol-hagoy lehimol vayeshvu tachtam bamachaneh ad chayotam.
So it was, when they had finished circumcising all the people, that they stayed in their places in the camp till they were healed.
9 Vayomer HASHEM el-Yehoshua hayom galoti et-cherpat Mitzrayim me'aleychem vayikra shem hamakom hahu Gilgal ad hayom hazeh.
Then HASHEM said to Yehoshua, "This day I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you." Therefore the name of the place is called Gilgal to this day.
10 Vayachanu venei-Yisrael baGilgal vaya'asu et-haPesach be'arba'ah asar yom lachodesh ba'erev be'arvot Yericho.
Now the children of Yisrael camped in Gilgal, and kept the Pesach on the fourteenth day of the month at twilight on the plains of Yericho.
11 Vayochelu me'avur ha'aretz mimachorat haPesach matzot vekalui be'etzem hayom hazeh.
And they ate of the produce of the land on the day after the Pesach, unleavened bread and parched grain,
on the very same day.
12 Vayishbot haman mimachorat be'achelam me'avur ha'aretz velo-hayah od livnei Yisrael man vayochelu mitvu'at eretz Kenaan bashanah hahi.
Then the manna ceased on the day after they had eaten the produce of the land; and the children of Yisrael no longer had manna, but they ate the food of the land of Kenaan that year.
13 Vayehi biheyot Yehoshua biYericho vayisa einav vayar vehineh-ish omed lenegdo vecharbo shlufah beyado vayelech Yehoshua elav vayomer lo halanu atah im-letzareynu.
And it came to pass, when Yehoshua was by Yericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Yehoshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?"
14 Vayomer lo ki ani sar-tzeva-HASHEM atah vati vayipol Yehoshua el-panav artzah vayishtachu vayomer lo mah adoni medaber el-avdo.
So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of HASHEM I have now come." And Yehoshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my master say to His servant?"
15 Vayomer sar-tzeva HASHEM el-Yehoshua shal-na'alecha me'al raglecha ki hamakom asher atah omed alav kodesh hu vaya'as Yehoshua ken.
Then the Commander of HASHEM's army said to Yehoshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Yehoshua did so.
6:1 ViYericho sogeret umesugeret mipnei benei Yisrael ein yotze ve'ein ba.
Now Yericho was securely shut up because of the children of Yisrael; none went out, and none came in.
6:27 Vayehi HASHEM et-Yehoshua vayehi shom'o bechol-ha'aretz.
So HASHEM was with Yehoshua, and his fame spread throughout all the country.

Haftarah Pesach - Second Day
2 Melachim 23:1 - 23:9 ; 23:21 - 23:25
~Maftir BaMidbar 28:16 - 28:25~
23:1 Vayishlach hamelech vaya'asfu elav kol-ziknei Yehudah viYerushalayim.
Now the king sent them to gather all the elders of Yehudah and Yerushalayim to him.
2 Vaya'al hamelech beit-HASHEM vechol-ish Yehudah vechol-yoshvey Yerushalayim ito vehakohanim
vehanevi'im vechol-ha'am lemikaton ve'ad-gadol vayikra ve'ozneihem et-kol-divrei sefer habrit beveit
HASHEM.
The king went up to the house of HASHEM with all the men of Yehudah, and with him all the inhabitants of Yerushalayim--the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great. And he read in their hearing all the words of the Book of the Covenant which had been found in the house of HASHEM.
3 Vaya'amod hamelech al-ha'amud vayichrot et-habrit lifnei HASHEM lalechet achar HASHEM velishmor mitzvotav ve'et-edvotav ve'et-chukotav bechol-lev uvechol-nefesh lehakim et-divrei habrit hazot haketuvim al-hasefer hazeh vaya'amod kol-ha'am babrit.
Then the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before HASHEM, to follow HASHEM and to keep His commandments and His testimonies and His statutes, with all his heart and all his soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people took a stand for the covenant.
4 Vayetsav hamelech et-Chilkiyahu hakohen hagadol ve'et-kohanei hamishneh ve'et-shomrei hasaf lehotzi meheichal HASHEM et kol-hakelim ha'asu'im laba'al vela'asherah ulechol tzeva hashamayim vayisrefem michutz liYerushalayim beshademot Kidron venasa et afaram Beit-El.
And the king commanded Chilkiyahu the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of HASHEM all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Yerushalayim in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Beit-El.
5 Vehishbit et-hakemarim asher natnu malchei Yehudah vayekater babamot be'arei Yehudah umesibei
Yerushalayim ve'et-hamekatrim laba'al lashemesh velayare'ach velamazalot ulechol tzeva hashamayim.
Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Yehudah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Yehudah and in the places all around Yerushalayim, and those who burned incense to Ba'al, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.
6 Vayotze et-ha'asherah mibeit HASHEM michutz liYerushalayim el-nachal Kidron vayisrof otah banachal Kidron vayadek le'afar vayashlech et-afarah al-kever benei ha'am.
And he brought out the wooden image from the house of HASHEM, to the Brook Kidron outside
Yerushalayim, burned it at the Brook Kidron and ground it to ashes, and threw its ashes on the graves of the common people.
7 Vayitotz et-batei hakdeshim asher beveit HASHEM asher hanashim orgot sham batim la'asherah.
Then he tore down the ritual booths of the perverted persons that were in the house of HASHEM, where the women wove hangings for the wooden image.
8 Vayave et-kol-hakohanim me'arei Yehudah vayetame et-habamot asher kitru-shamah hakohanim migeva ad-Be'er Sheva venatatz et-bamot hashe'arim asher-petach sha'ar Yehoshua sar-ha'ir asher-al-smol ish besha'ar ha'ir.
And he brought all the priests from the cities of Yehudah, and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense, from Geva to Beer Sheva; also he broke down the high places at the gates which were at the entrance of the Gate of Yehoshua the governor of the city, which were to the left of the city gate.
9 Ach lo ya'alu kohanei habamot el-mizbach HASHEM biYerushalayim ki im-achlu matzot betoch acheihem.
Nevertheless the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of HASHEM in Yerushalayim, but they ate unleavened bread among their brethren.
23:21 Vayetzav hamelech et-kol-ha'am lemor asu Pesach l'HASHEM Elokeichem kakatuv al sefer habrit hazeh.
Then the king commanded all the people, saying, "Keep the Passover to HASHEM your G-d, as it is written in this Book of the Covenant."
22 Ki lo na'aseh kaPesach hazeh mimei hashoftim asher shaftu et-Yisrael vechol yemei malchei Yisrael umalchei Yehudah.
Such a Passover surely had never been held since the days of the judges who judged Yisrael, nor in all the days of the kings of Yisrael and the kings of Yehudah.
23 Ki im-bishmoneh esreh shanah lamelech Yoshiyahu na'aseh haPesach hazeh l'HASHEM biYerushalayim.
But in the eighteenth year of King Yoshiyahu this Passover was held before HASHEM in Yerushalayim.
24 Vegam et-ha'ovot ve'et-hayid'onim ve'et-hatrafim ve'et-hagilulim ve'et kol-hashikutsim asher nir'u be'eretz Yehudah uviYerushalayim bi'er Yoshiyahu lema'an hakim et-divrei hatorah haketuvim al-hasefer asher matza Chilkiyahu hakohen beit HASHEM.
Moreover Yoshiyahu put away those who consulted mediums and spiritists, the household god and idols, all the abominations that were seen in the land of Yehudah and in Yerushalayim, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Chilkiyahu the priest found in the house of HASHEM.
25 Vechamohu lo-hayah lefanav melech asher-shav el-HASHEM bechol-levavo uvechol-nafsho uvecholme'odo kechol torat Moshe ve'acharav lo-kam kamohu.
Now before him there was no king like him, who turned to HaShem with all his heart, with all his soul, and with all his might, according to all the Torah of Moshe; nor after him did any arise like him.

Shabbat Pesach, Chol HaMoed:
[Moshe Pleads for G-d's Nearness]
Exodus/ Shemot
33:12 Vayomer Moshe el-HASHEM re'eh atah omer elaI ha'al et-ha'am hazeh

Then Moshe said to HASHEM, "See, You say to me, 'Bring up this
people.' But You have not let me know whom You will send with me. Yet
You have said, 'I know you by name, and you have also found grace in
My sight.'
13 Ve'atah im-na matzati chen be'eineicha hodi'eni na et-derachcha

Now therefore, I pray, if I have found grace in Your sight, show me now
Your way, that I may know You and that I may find grace in Your sight.
And consider that this nation is Your people."
14 Vayomar panai yelechu vahanichoti lach.
And He said, "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest."
15 Vayomer elav im-ein paneicha holchim al-ta'alenu mizeh.
Then he said to Him, "If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring

For how then will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in

17 Vayomer HASHEM el-Moshe gam et-hadavar hazeh asher dibarta

So HASHEM said to Moshe, "I will also do this thing that you have

18 Vayomar har'eni na et-kvodecha.
And he said, "Please, show me Your glory."
19 Vayomer ani a'avir kol-tuvi al-paneicha vekarati veshem HASHEM

Then He said, "I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will

will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have
compassion."
20 Vayomer lo tuchal lir'ot et-panay ki lo-yir'ani ha'adam vachay.
But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall see Me, and live."
21 Vayomer HASHEM hineh makom iti venitzavta al-hatzur.
And HASHEM said, "Here is a place by Me, and you shall stand on the
rock.
22 Vehayah ba'avor kvodi vesamticha benikrat hatzur vesakoti chapi

So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of

Then I will take away My hand, and you shall see My back; but My face

[The Second Tablets]

And HASHEM said to Moshe, "Cut two tablets of stone like the first ones,

which you broke.
2 Veheyeh nachon laboker ve'alita vaboker el-har Sinai venitzavta li sham

So be ready in the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai,

4 Vayifsol shnei-luchot avanim karishonim vayashkem Moshe vaboker

So he cut two tablets of stone like the first ones. Then Moshe rose early
in the morning and went up Mount Sinai, as HASHEM had commanded
him; and he took in his hand the two tablets of stone.
5 Vayered HASHEM be'anan vayityatzev imo sham vayikra veshem

Now HASHEM descended in the cloud and stood with him there, and
proclaimed the name of HASHEM.
6 Vaya'avor HASHEM al-panav vayikra HASHEM HASHEM Kel rachum

And HASHEM passed before him and proclaimed, "HASHEM, HASHEM

keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin,
by no means clearing the guilty, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the
children and the children's children to the third and the fourth generation."
8 Vayemaher Moshe vayikod artzah vayishtachu.
So Moshe made haste and bowed his head toward the earth, and
worshiped.
9 Vayomer im-na matzati chen be'eineicha HASHEM yelech-na adonai

Then he said, "If now I have found grace in Your sight, O HASHEM, let

inheritance."

The hand of HASHEM came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of

Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were

And He said to me, "Son of man, can these bones live?" So I answered,
"O HASHEM G-d, You know."

Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the

17 Vekarav otam echad el-echad lecha le'etz echad vehayu la'achadim

Then join them one to another for yourself into one stick, and they will

13:17 Vayehi beshalach Par'oh et-ha'am velo-nacham Elokim derech eretz Plishtim ki karov hu ki amar Elokim pen-yinachem ha'am bir'otam milchamah veshavu Mitzraimah.
Then it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that G-d did not lead them by way of the land of the Pelishtim, although that was near; for G-d said, "Lest perhaps the people change their minds when they see war, and return to Egypt."
18 Vayasev Elokim et-ha'am derech hamidbar yam-Suf vachamushim alu venei-Yisrael me'eretz Mitzrayim.
So G-d led the people around by way of the wilderness of the Reed Sea. And the children of Yisrael went up in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
19 Vayikach Moshe et-atsmot Yosef imo ki hashbea hishbia et-benei Yisrael lemor pakod yifkod Elokim etchem veha'alitem et-atzmotai mizeh itchem.
And Moshe took the bones of Yosef with him, for he had placed the children of Yisrael under solemn oath, saying, "G-d will surely visit you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you."
20 Vayis'u miSukkot vayachanu ve'Etam biktzeh hamidbar.
So they took their journey from Sukkot and camped in Etam at the edge of the wilderness.

22 Lo-yamish amud he'anan yomam ve'amud ha'esh lailah lifnei ha'am.
He did not take away the pillar of cloud by day or the pillar of fire by night from before the people.
[Pharaoh's Change of Heart]
14:1 Vayedaber HASHEM el-Moshe lemor.
Now HASHEM spoke to Moshe, saying:
2 Daber el-benei Yisrael veyashuvu veyachanu lifneI Pi haChirot bein Migdol uvein hayam lifnei Baal Tzefon nichecho tachanu al-hayam.
Speak to the children of Yisrael, that they turn and camp before Pi-haChirot, between Migdol and the sea, opposite Baal- Tzefon; you shall camp before it by the sea.
3 Ve'amar Par'oh livnei Yisrael nevuchim hem ba'aretz sagar aleihem hamidbar.
For Pharaoh will say of the children of Yisrael, 'They are bewildered by the land; the wilderness has closed them in.'
4 Vechizakti et-lev-Par'oh veradaf achareihem ve'ikavdah bePar'oh uvechol-cheilo veyad'u Mitzrayim ki-ani HASHEM vaya'asu-chen.
Then I will harden Pharaoh's heart, so that he will pursue them; and I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, that the Egypt may know that I am HASHEM. And they did so.
5 Vayugad lemelech Mitzrayim ki varach ha'am vayehafech levav Par'oh va'avadav el-ha'am vayomru mah-zot asinu ki-shilachnu et-Yisrael me'ovdenu.
Now it was told the king of Egypt that the people had fled, and the heart of Pharaoh and his servants was turned against the people; and they said, "Why have we done this, that we have let Yisrael go from serving us?"
6 Vayesor et-richbo ve'et-amo lakach imo.
So he made ready his chariot and took his people with him.
7 Vayikach shesh-me'ot rechev bachur vechol rechev Mitzrayim veshalishim al-kulo.

8 Vayechazek HASHEM et-lev Par'oh melech Mitzrayim vayirdof acharei benei Yisrael uvenei Yisrael yotze'im beyad ramah.
And HASHEM hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued the children of Yisrael; and the children of Yisrael went out with boldness.
[Sheni]
9 Vayirdefu Mitzrayim achareihem vayasigu otam chonim al-hayam kol-sus rechev Par'oh ufarashav vecheylo al-Pi haChirot lifney Baal Tzfon.
So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi haChirot, before Baal Tzefon.
10 UPar'oh hikriv vayis'u venei-Yisrael et-eineihem vehineh Mitzrayim nosea achareihem vayir'u me'od vayitz'aku venei-Yisrael el-HASHEM.
And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Yisrael lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egypt marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Yisrael cried out to HASHEM.
11 Vayomeru el-Moshe hamibli ein-kvarim beMitzrayim lekachtanu lamut bamidbar mah-zot asita lanu lehotzi'anu miMitzrayim.
Then they said to Moshe, "Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt?
12 Halo-zeh hadavar asher dibarnu eleicha veMitzrayim lemor chadal mimenu vena'avdah et-Mitzrayim ki tov lanu avod et-Mitzrayim mimutenu bamidbar.
Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, 'Let us alone that we may serve the Egypt?' For it would have been better for us to serve the Egypt than that we should die in the wilderness."
13 Vayomer Moshe el-ha'am al-tira'u hityatsvu ure'u et-yeshu'at HASHEM asher-ya'aseh lachem hayom ki asher re'item et-Mitzrayim hayom lo tosifu lir'otam od ad-olam.
And Moshe said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of HASHEM, which He will accomplish for you today. For the HASHEM whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever.
14 HASHEM yilachem lachem ve'atem tacharishun.
HASHEM will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace."
[Shlishi]
15 Vayomer HASHEM el-Moshe mah-titz'ak elay daber el-benei-Yisrael veyisa'u.
And HASHEM said to Moshe, "Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Yisrael to go forward.

But lift up your rod, and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it. And the children of Yisrael shall go on dry ground through the midst of the sea.
17 Va'ani hineni mechazek et-lev Mitzrayim veyavo'u achareIhem ve'ikavdah be'Par'oh uvechol-cheilo berichbo uvefarashav.
And I indeed will harden the hearts of the Egypt, and they shall follow them. So I will gain honor over Pharaoh and over all his army, his chariots, and his horsemen.
18 Veyad'u Mitzrayim ki-ani HASHEM behikovdi bePar'oh berichbo uvefarashav.
Then the Egyptians shall know that I am HASHEM, when I have gained honor for Myself over Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen."
19 Vayisa mal'ach ha'Elokim haholech lifnei machaneh Yisrael vayelech me'achareihem vayisa amud he'anan mipneihem vaya'amod me'achareihem.
And the malach of G-d, who went before the camp of Yisrael, moved and went behind them; and the pillar of cloud went from before them and stood behind them.
20 Vayavo bein machaneh Mitzrayim uvein machaneh Yisrael vayehi he'anan vehachoshech vaya'er et-halailah velo-karav zeh el-zeh kol-halailah.
So it came between the camp of the Egypt and the camp of Yisrael. Thus it was a cloud and darkness to the one, and it gave light by night to the other, so that the one did not come near the other all that night.
21 Vayet Moshe et-yado al-hayam vayolech HASHEM et-hayam beruach kadim azah kol-halailah vayasem et-hayam lecharavah vayibak'u hamayim.
Then Moshe stretched out his hand over the sea; and HASHEM caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.
22 Vayavo'u venei-Yisrael betoch hayam bayabashah vehamayim lahem chomah miyeminam umismolam.
So the children of Yisrael went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
23 Vayirdefu Mitzrayim vayavo'u achareihem kol sus Par'oh richbo ufarashav el-toch hayam.
And the Egyptians pursued and went after them into the midst of the sea, all Pharaoh's horses, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24 Vayehi be'ashmoret haboker vayashkef HASHEM el-machaneh Mitzrayim be'amud esh ve'anan vayahom et machaneh Mitzrayim.
Now it came to pass, in the morning watch, that HASHEM looked down upon the army of the Egypt through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He troubled the army of the Egypt.
25 Vayasar et ofan markevotav vayenahagehu bichvedut vayomer Mitzrayim anusah mipnei Yisrael ki HASHEM nilcham lahem beMitzrayim.
And He took off their chariot wheels, so that they drove them with difficulty; and the Egyptians said, "Let us flee from the face of Yisrael, for HASHEM fights for them against the Egyptians."
[revii]]
26 Vayomer HASHEM el-Moshe neteh et-yadcha al-hayam vayashuvu hamayim al-Mitzrayim al-richbo ve'alparashav.
Then HASHEM said to Moshe, "Stretch out your hand over the sea, that the waters may come back upon the Egyptians, on their chariots, and on their horsemen."
27 Vayet Moshe et-yado al-hayam vayashov hayam lifnot boker le'eytano uMitzrayim nasim likrato vayena'er HASHEM et-Mitzrayim betoch hayam.
And Moshe stretched out his hand over the sea; and when the morning appeared, the sea returned to its full depth, while the Egyptians were fleeing into it. So HASHEM overthrew the Egyptians in the midst of the sea.
28 Vayashuvu hamayim vayechasu et-harechev ve'et-haparashim lechol cheil Par'oh haba'im achareihem bayam lo nish'ar bahem ad-echad.
Then the waters returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and all the army of Pharaoh that came into the sea after them. Not so much as one of them remained.
29 Uvenei Yisrael halchu vayabashah betoch hayam vehamayim lahem chomah miyeminam umismolam.
But the children of Yisrael had walked on dry land in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.
30 Vayosha HASHEM bayom hahu et-Yisrael miyad Mitzrayim vayar Yisrael et-Mitzrayim met al-sfat hayam.
So HASHEM saved Yisrael that day out of the hand of the Egyptians, and Yisrael saw the Egyptians dead on the seashore.
31 Vayar Yisrael et-hayad hagdolah asher asah HASHEM beMitzrayim vayir'u ha'am et-HASHEM vaya'aminu b'HASHEM uveMoshe avdo.
Thus Yisrael saw the great work which HASHEM had done in Egypt; so the people feared HASHEM, and believed HASHEM and His servant Moshe.
[The Song by the Sea]
15:1 Az yashir-Moshe uvenei Yisrael et-hashirah hazot l'HASHEM vayomeru lemor ashirah l'HASHEM ki-ga'oh ga'ah sus verochevo ramah vayam.
Then Moshe and the children of Yisrael sang this song to HASHEM, and spoke, saying: "I will sing to HASHEM, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!

For the horses of Pharaoh went with his chariots and his horsemen into the sea, and HASHEM brought back the waters of the sea upon them. But the children of Yisrael went on dry land in the midst of the sea.

Then Miryam the prophetess, the sister of Aharon, took the timbrel in her hand; and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dances.

And Miryam answered them: "Sing to HASHEM, for He has triumphed gloriously! The horse and its rider He has thrown into the sea!"
[Marah, Yisrael Tests G-d]
22 Vayasa Moshe et-Yisrael miyam-Suf vayetz'u el-midbar-Shur vayelchu shloshet yamim bamidbar velo-matz'u mayim.

2 Shmuel 22:1 - 22:51
~Maftir BaMidbar 28:19 - 28:25~ [not all use this maftir for 7]
22:1 Vayedaber David l'HASHEM et-divrei hashirah hazot beyom hitzil
HASHEM oto mikaf kol-oyevav umikaf Shaul.
Then David spoke to HASHEM the words of this song, on the day when
HASHEM had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from
the hand of Shaul.
2 Vayomar HASHEM Sal'i uMetzudati uMefalti-li.
And he said: "HASHEM is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer;
3 Elokei Tzuri echeseh-bo Magini veKeren Yish'i Misgabi uMenusi Moshi'i
mechamas toshi'eni.
The G-d of my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my
salvation, my stronghold and my refuge; my Savior, You save me from
violence.
4 Mehulal ekra HASHEM ume'oyvay ivashea.
I will call upon HASHEM, who is worthy to be praised; so shall I be saved
from my enemies.
5 Ki afafuni mishberei-mavet nachalei Vliya'al yeva'atuni.
'When the waves of death surrounded me, The floods of unholiness made
me afraid.
6 Chevlei Sheol sabuni kidmuni mokshei-mavet.
The sorrows of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death confronted me.
7 Batzar-li ekra HASHEM ve'el-Elokai ekra vayishma meheichalo koli
veshav'ati be'oznav.
In my distress I called upon HASHEM, and cried out to my G-d; He heard
my voice from His temple, and my cry entered His ears.
8 Vayitga'ash vatir'ash ha'aretz mosdot hashamayim yirgazu vayitga'ashu
ki-charah lo.
Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven quaked
and were shaken, because He was angry.
9 Alah ashan be'apo ve'esh mipiv tochel gechalim ba'aru mimenu.
Smoke went up from His nostrils, and devouring fire from His mouth;
coals were kindled by it.
10 Vayet shamayim vayerad va'arafel tachat raglav.
He bowed the heavens also, and came down with darkness under His
feet.
11 Vayirkav al-kruv vaya'of vayera al-kanfei-ruach.
He rode upon a keruv, and flew; and He was seen upon the wings of the
wind.
12 Vayashet choshech svivotav sukot chashrat-mayim avey shchakim.
He made darkness canopies around Him, dark waters and thick clouds of
the skies.
13 Minogah negdo ba'aru gachalei-esh.
From the brightness before Him Coals of fire were kindled.
14 Yar'em min-shamayim HASHEM ve'Elyon yiten kolo.
HASHEM thundered from heaven, and the Most High uttered His voice.
15 Vayishlach chitzim vayefitzem barak vayahom.
He sent out arrows and scattered them; lightning bolts, and He
vanquished them.
16 Vayera'u afikei yam yigalu mosdot tevel bega'arat HASHEM minishmat
ruach apo.
Then the channels of the sea were seen, the foundations of the world
were uncovered, at the rebuke of HASHEM, at the blast of the breath of
His nostrils.
17 Yishlach mimarom yikacheni yamsheni mimayim rabim.
He sent from above, He took me, He drew me out of many waters.
18 Yatzileni meoyevi az mi shone'ai ki ametzu mimeni.
He delivered me from my strong enemy, from those who hated me; for
they were too strong for me.
19 Yekadmuni beyom eidi vayehi HASHEM mish'an li.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but HASHEM was my
support.
20 Vayotze lamerchav oti yechaltzeni ki-chafetz bi.
He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He
delighted in me.
21 Yigmeleni HASHEM ketzidkati kevor yaday yashiv li.
HASHEM rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the
cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.
22 Ki shamarti darchei HASHEM velo rashati me'Elokei.
For I have kept the ways of HASHEM, and have not wickedly departed
from my G-d.
23 Ki chol-mishpatav lenegdi vechukotav lo-asur mimenah.
For all His judgments were before me; and as for His statutes, I did not
depart from them.
24 Va'eheyeh tamim lo va'eshtamrah me'avoni.
I was also blameless before Him, and I kept myself from my iniquity.
25 Vayashev HASHEM li ketsidkati kevori leneged einav.
Therefore HASHEM has recompensed me according to my
righteousness, according to my cleanness in His eyes.
26 Im-chasid titchasad im-gibor tamim titamam.
With the merciful You will show Yourself merciful; with a blameless man
You will show Yourself blameless;
27 Im-navar titavar ve'im-ikesh titapal.
With the pure You will show Yourself pure; and with the devious You will
show Yourself shrewd.
28 Ve'et-am ani toshia ve'eyneicha al-ramim tashpil.
You will save the humble people; but Your eyes are on the haughty, that
You may bring them down.
29 Ki-atah neyri HASHEM v'HASHEM yagiha choshki.
For You are my lamp, O HASHEM; HASHEM shall enlighten my
darkness.
30 Ki vechah arutz gedud be'Elokei adaleg-shur.
For by You I can run against a troop; by my G-d I can leap over a wall.
31 Ha'Kel tamim darko imrat HASHEM tzrufah magen hu lechol hachosim
bo.
As for Kel, His way is perfect; the word of HASHEM is proven; He is a
shield to all who trust in Him.
32 Ki mi-el mibal'adei HASHEM umi tzur mibal'adei Elokeinu.
For who is G-d, except HASHEM? And who is a rock, except our G-d?
33 Ha'Kel ma'uzi chayil vayater tamim darki.
G-d is my strength and power, and He makes my way perfect.
34 Meshaveh raglay ka'ayalot ve'al-bamotai ya'amideni.
He makes my feet like the feet of deer, and sets me on my high places.
35 Melamed yaday lamilchamah venichat keshet-nechushah zero'otai.
He teaches my hands to make war, so that my arms can bend a bow of
bronze.
36 Vatiten-li magen yish'echa va'anotcha tarbeni.
You have also given me the shield of Your salvation; Your gentleness has
made me great.
37 Tarchiv tza'adi tachteni velo ma'adu karsulay.
You enlarged my path under me; so my feet did not slip.
38 Erdefah oyvay va'ashmidem velo ashuv ad-kalotam.
I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; neither did I turn back
again till they were destroyed.
39 Va'achalem va'emchatzem velo yekumun vayiplu tachat raglay.
And I have destroyed them and wounded them, so that they could not
rise; they have fallen under my feet.
40 Vatazreni chayil lamilchamah tachria kamai tachteni.
For You have armed me with strength for the battle; You have subdued
under me those who rose against me.
41 Ve'oyevai tatah li oref mesane'ay va'atzmitem.
You have also given me the necks of my enemies, so that I destroyed
those who hated me.
42 Yish'u ve'eyn moshia el-HASHEM velo anam.
They looked, but there was none to save; even to HASHEM, but He did
not answer them.
43 Ve'eshchakem ka'afar-aretz ketit-chutzot adikem erka'em.
Then I beat them as fine as the dust of the earth; I trod them like dirt in
the streets, and I spread them out.
44 Vatefalteni merivei ami tishmereni lerosh goyim am lo-yadati ya'avduni.
You have also delivered me from the strivings of my people; You have
kept me as the head of the nations. A people I have not known shall serve
me.
45 Benei nechar yitkachashu-li lishmoa ozen yisham'u li.
The foreigners submit to me; as soon as they hear, they obey me.
46 Bnei nechar yibolu veyachgeru mimisgerotam.
The foreigners fade away, and come frightened from their hideouts.
47 Chay-HASHEM uvaruch Tzuri veyarum Elokei Tzur yish'i.
HASHEM lives! Blessed be my Rock! Let G-d be exalted, the Rock of my
salvation!
48 Ha'Kel hanoten nekamot li umorid amim tachteni.
It is G-d who avenges me, and subdues the peoples under me;
49 Umotzi'i me'oyvai umikamai teromemeni me'ish chamasim tatzileni.
He delivers me from my enemies. You also lift me up above those who
rise against me; You have delivered me from the violent man.
50 Al-ken odecha HASHEM bagoyim uleshimcha azamer.
Therefore I will give thanks to You, O HASHEM, among the Gentiles, and
sing praises to Your name.
51 Migdol yeshu'ot malko ve'oseh chesed limeshicho le-David ulezar'o

He is the tower of salvation to His king, and shows mercy to His anointed,
to David and his descendants forevermore."

3 Vaharicho beyir'at HASHEM velo-lemar'eh einav yishpot velo-lemishma
oznav yochiach.
His delight is in the fear of HASHEM, and He shall not judge by the sight
of His eyes, nor decide by the hearing of His ears;
4 Veshafat betzedek dalim vehochiach bemishor le'anvei-aretz
vehikah-eretz beshevet piv uveruach sfatav yami rasha.
But with righteousness He shall judge the poor, and decide with equity for
the meek of the earth; He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
and with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.
5 Vehayah tzedek ezor motnav veha'emunah ezor chalatzav.
Righteousness shall be the belt of His loins, and faithfulness the belt of
His waist.
6 Vegar ze'ev im-keves venamer im-gedi yirbatz ve'egel uchefir umri

The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the
young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a
little child shall lead them.
7 Ufarah vadov tir'einah yachdav yirbetzu yaldeihen ve'aryeh kabakar
yochal-teven.
The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down
together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
8 Veshi'asha yonek al-chur paten ve'al me'urat tzif'oni gamul yado hadah.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole, and the weaned child
shall put his hand in the viper's den.
9 Lo yare'u velo-yashchitu bechol-har kodshi ki-mal'ah ha'aretz de'ah

They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall
be full of the knowledge of HASHEM as the waters cover the sea.
10 Vehayah bayom hahu shoresh Yishai asher omed lenes amim elav
goyim yidroshu vehayetah menuchato kavod.
And in that day there shall be a Root of Yishai, Who shall stand as a
banner to the people; for the Gentiles shall seek Him, and His resting
place shall be glorious."
11 Vehayah bayom hahu yosif HASHEM shenit yado liknot et-she'ar amo

It shall come to pass in that day that HASHEM shall set His hand again
the second time to recover the remnant of His people who are left, from
Ashur and Egypt, from Patros and Kush, from Eilam and Shinar, from
Chamat and the islands of the sea.
12 Venasa nes lagoyim ve'asaf nidchei Yisrael unefutzot Yehudah
yekabetz me'arba kanfot ha'aretz.
He will set up a banner for the nations, and will assemble the outcasts of
Yisrael, and gather together the dispersed of Yehudah from the four
corners of the earth.
13 Vesarah kin'at Efrayim vetsorerei Yehudah yikaretu Efrayim lo-yekane

Also the envy of Efrayim shall depart, and the adversaries of Yehudah
shall be cut off; Efrayim shall not envy Yehudah, and Yehudah shall not
harass Efrayim.
14 Ve'afu vechatef Plishtim yamah yachdav yavozu et-benei-kedem Edom

But they shall fly down upon the shoulder of the Pelishtim toward the
west; together they shall plunder the people of the East; they shall lay
their hand on Edom and Moav; and the people of Amon shall obey them.
15 Vehecherim HASHEM et leshon yam-Mitzrayim vehenif yado

HASHEM will utterly destroy the tongue of the Sea of Egypt; with His
mighty wind He will shake His fist over the River, and strike it in the seven
streams, and make men cross over dry-shod.
16 Vehayetah mesilah lishe'ar amo asher yisha'er me'Ashur ka'asher
hayetah le-Yisrael beyom aloto me'eretz Mitzrayim.
There will be a highway for the remnant of His people who will be left from
Ashur, as it was for Yisrael in the day that he came up from the land of
Egypt.
12:1 Ve'amarta bayom hahu odecha HASHEM ki anafta bi yashov
apecha utenachameni.
And in that day you will say: "O HASHEM, I will praise You; though You
were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me.
2 Hineh Kel yeshu'ati evtach velo efchad ki-ozi vezimrat Yah Hashem
vayehi-li lishu'ah.
Behold, Kel is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; 'For Yah,
HASHEM, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.'"
3 Ushavtem-mayim besason mima'ayenei hayeshu'ah.
Therefore with joy you will draw water from the wells of salvation.
4 Va'amartem bayom hahu hodu l'HASHEM kir'u vishmo hodi'u va'amim
alilotav hazkiru ki nisgav shemo.
And in that day you will say: "Praise HASHEM, call upon His name;
declare His deeds among the peoples, make mention that His name is
exalted.
5 Zamru HASHEM ki ge'ut asah muda'at zot bechol-ha'aretz.
Sing to HASHEM, for He has done excellent things; this is known in all
the earth.
6 Tzahali varoni yoshevet Tziyon ki-gadol bekirbech kedosh Yisrael.
Cry out and shout, O inhabitant of Tziyon, for great is the Holy One of
Yisrael in your midst!"
