Kabbalat Shabbat dinner at Adele's was very enjoyable and the attendees resolved to do such at least once a month!
April 15, the Days of Remembrance presentation at Yavapai College
A group of us attended, as we do each year, and found the stories of the three child survivors to be gripping and absorbing. This year was much more audible and better understood than last. The content was absorbing and heart wrenching. Yet we could not but wonder what were the stories of all those who did not make it through the war...
More comments will be added as they come in. If you attended, please feel free to submit your comment on the event for posting on the website.

Purim is Coming 5772
Mid-week Purim seems to lose its glitter,
Competing with everyday jobs and chores.
Yet can’t we find just another few minutes
To hear Purim tales, eat festive foods, and more?
Shouldn’t we take time each and every day
To support our Temples and tend to the poor?
For if we can’t find in our hearts such compassion,
How then can our Leaders succeed to prevent war?
It is said that the mitzvot of Purim are four: hear the story of Esther, eat a festive community meal, give support to local Jewish Institutions so that they may continue to exist, and give charity to the poor especially so that all can have all they need to observe Pesach [Passover] fully.
Purim Megillah reading dinner at Adele's 5:30-6:30 pm March 7, Wednesday. A time for joyous celebration!

Beit Torah had a small delegation attend the PVUMC hosting of a Russian youth folk dance troupe. It was a delightful afternoon complete with very enjoyable Russian singing, dancing, and costumes along with some audience participation. It seems that the average age of the Russian youth was about 15-16 and they seemed to have the energy and spirit to match!
Chanukah 5772, Dec. 23rd, 2011
Patrick hosted our annual Chanukah party at the Stoneridge Community Center. This year we did a Shabbat Chanukah dinner party with 18 participants, 4 of whom were children. Lots of candles were lit with prayers and songs accordingly. Jerry was even able to join us despite his continuing recovery from cracked vertebrae.
Patrick prepared great pasta with vegetable sauce, one pot with cheese and the other without. Latke contributions came from Leah and Melanie along with applesauce and lots of salads and drinks from everybody else. Lox and cheese went well with the potato flour rolls, the grape juice was spiced just right, and gifts for the children were given out.
May we all have many more Simchas to celebrate and enjoy!
